After killing a man who has the intention of testifying against him, Paul Varlo finds himself having to defend against a horde of zombies. These zombies aren't your average variety either, they're fast and they have guns. Meanwhile, Jake and Laura are on they're way to deliver an artifact to Varlo and claim they're million dollar prize. Of course zombie frolics make this difficult to say the least. They'll find themselves having to survive an onslaught like something from their worse nightmare.
Fast Zombies with Guns? Sorry but zombies don't run and they sure as hell don't shoot guns. I really find it difficult to accept the premise of this movie so i initially went into viewing feeling a bit of scepticism. Well, turns out i was right. Fast Zombies with Guns really isn't that great a movie. There is so many things going on here that just bring the whole thing crashing down.
The zombies are not scary, at all. Like not in the slightest. The whole 'fast and shooting zombies' is really just a gimmick for the movie to try and differentiate itself from the millions of other zombie movies out there. Whilst i'm happy to give kudos to the creators for trying something original, the whole idea of 'action-men' zombies just doesn't work that well.
The acting quality is patchy at best, some of the cast are decent but others are just crap. Most of the characters are forgettable and the dialogue at times seems awkward and stilted. Really not good.
The costume and special effects are on the uber minimalist side to say the least. Keeping in mind that Fast Zombies with Guns was made on a super low budget this isn't surprising. Indeed even the action scenes aren't that amazing, though the end scene has loads of violence and if this movie has one fun element it'd be the blood. There's loads of it, it's over the top, totally unbelievable but it's still fun.
Sadly Fast Zombies with Guns has so few redeeming features i'm finding it almost impossible to recommend. The storyline is confused and the characters are dull and the whole thing doesn't gel in the way a good movie should. Best avoid unless you can catch this on the TV.
