Bloodlust Zombies revolves around a military contractor which is in the process of developing a biological weapon that can turn America's enemies into mindless zombies. Inadvertently a couple of lab assistants unleash the virus upon the workers in the building. With the place shut down tight and no help from the outside, it's up to a group of pencil pushers and rent-a-cop security guards to find a way to escape or take down all the zombies.
What we've got here is an indie movie that has clearly placed itself in the 'fun horror' genre. Bloodlust Zombies is far from a serious horror, it's loaded with jocularity from beginning to end. Most of the action takes place in a sort of residential office block type of building and whilst it doesn't make for the most engrossing atmosphere i've seen in a movie, it is sufficient.
The acting standard of the flick isn't of the highest calibre either, though the actors look the part and much of the movies goofiness is performed out well. It may also be worth noting that Bloodlust Zombies is not shy on the nudity scale either, plenty of nude girls doing their thing in this movie, which is always a good thing in our book.
Being an indie flick the production level is what you'd expect it to be, there ain't many special effects and nor is the makeup that awesome either. Though there is plenty of blood flying around and the general gore level is decent.
Thankfully the movie doesn't take too long to get rolling and the death count starts to stack up quite early. The storyline (of what there is) is dead simple, there's really no complex characters or twists to be found at all.
I would'nt say Bloodlust Zombies is a scary movie, it's not geared to be really, it's goofy nonsense, the kind of movie you watch with your friends whilst cracking open cans of beer. In that regard it is quality and falls into the 'so bad it's good' category easily.
To summarise, if your looking for a fun indie movie that delivers plenty of gore, chicks and laughs then i think you've just found what your looking for.
