Vlad a young wannabe doctor returns to his rural hometown in Romania after time away in Italy. He finds one of the local elderly folks has passed on but under seemingly strange circumstances. That's not the only thing that's strange however as the local townsfolk are behaving very guarded yet very inquisitive simultaneously. Vlad smells a rat and decides to find out just what is going on. Through the course of the movie he'll discover more than he bargained for as he finds out that old vampiric (strigoi) legends are more than just fantasy.

Stake Land is set in a future post-apocalyptic setting where a vampire epidemic has swept across swathes of North America. A young boy named Martin (Connor Paolo) is saved when his family gets slaughtered in their rural home, his savior is a vampire hunting hard-ass known simply as Mister (Nick Damici). Mister takes him in and trains him to be the man he needs to be to survive the new reality of the world they live in. Along the way they will encounter stragglers, cannibals and religious nutters as they make their way to New Eden (up in Canada).

Umbrage starts it's tale in the old wild west. A lone cowboy rolls into town with the aim of taking out his target. In the process he is attacked by a vampiress who leaves him bloodied and mauled. Cut to modern day, Jacob (Doug Bradley) and his wife Lauren, together with Jacob's stepdaughter Rachel have moved out to their new home, way out in the countryside. Jacob brings along an ancient and priceless mirror that he plans to sell on and make a fortune. Well strange things start to happen when a camper and a mysterious ornithologist woman show up at their door after one of their friends is slaughtered. A night of terror ensues as the the family and co find themselves under siege from dark, shadowy forces. If that was'nt enough there's a strange cowboy figure stalking the house, looking for something but just what is it?

Ninjas vs Vampires starts out with a young couple of friends Aaron and Alex, out in the woods having a 'personal moment'. Out of nowhere they are attacked by a group of savage vampires, things look grim. Luckily a group of vampire hating ninjas intervene to save the day leaving Aaron and Alex to work out just what the hell is going on. Well it turns out there is a sect of local vampires that are determined to take over the world and it's up to the group of ragtag ninja vigilante's to stop them with the help of the new found hapless couple. Will they be able to stop the vampire Lord Seth and his maniacal plan before it's too late?

Wow, what's this? A truly intelligent and deep Vampire movie. They don't come along that often. True, the average Vampire movie is usually more cleverly plotted than many other genres within horror, but you've got to admit that most trot out the same tired formula over and over again. This is different, and one of the best vampire movies it has been my pleasure to see.

Set in an alternate reality where humans and vampires have been at loggerheads for many generations. The human side has emerged victorious due to the rise of the warrior priests, martial arts experts and general super beings. These warriors decimated the vampire hordes years ago and are now laid out to pasture as relics of the past; whilst the rest of humanity remains huddled in dark, industrial, techno-like cities governed by a totalitarian Church that seeks to maintain an iron grip on all that is. One of these warrior priests is brought out of retirement when his niece is mysteriously abducted out in the desert wastelands. What the priest discovers will shatter not only his own world but the Church's too.
