Hostel: Part III (2011) Review

Hostel: Part III is the third and final installment in the Hostel series of films. The movie picks up where the previous movie, Hostel: Part II, left off. A group of American college students are in Europe on their summer break. They decide to stay in a hostel in Slovakia, where they are promised cheap lodging and a good time. However, the hostel turns out to be a front for a group of international mercenaries who kidnap and torture their guests for profit. The students must use all their ingenuity and courage to escape from their captors.

Hostel – some people love it, some people hate it. Personally, even though I thought the first one was a bit intriguing I’ve never really got my kicks out of it. In truth, I’m not a massive fan of torture flicks but if the storyline is there i can enjoy these kind of movies just as much as the next person. So what do we have with Hostel: Part III? I suppose i could say it’s more of the same just in a different locale but that would be doing it a disservice. Moving the series away from the gloomy, gritty towns in Slovakia for the glam of Las Vegas doesn’t do much for the movies foreboding nature but nevertheless it makes up for it in other ways.

The movies storyline at first appears to be very predictable and shallow, however there are a couple of twists that get thrown our way which make the movie quite an engrossing watch. The actors performances are solid and indeed everyone is believable in their parts.

As i touched on before the movie isn’t as creepy or foreboding as it’s predecessors, there are a few moments where tension runs high (IE: the torture scenes) but all in all I didn’t find this movie to be very scary. The gore (of what’s there) is done well even though it’s obvious to see that this movie has a lower budget that it’s predecessors also.

Moving to the America hasn’t been the best move for the franchise but regardless Hostel: Part III is a solid watch and one that I have no problem recommending to long time fans or newcomers to the dark morbid reality that is Hostel.

The Hostel series of movies is known for its graphic violence and gore, and Hostel: Part III does not disappoint. The movie is filled with scenes of torture and death, which some viewers may find disturbing. However, the violence is not gratuitous and serves to further the plot. The movie is also suspenseful and suspenseful, with plenty of twists and turns to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

Overall, Hostel: Part III is a well-made movie that delivers on its promise of suspense, violence, and gore. fans of the series will not be disappointed.
