Since Pleasant Valley will no longer be having any 'guests' for it's Gut's N' Glory Jamboree, the cannibalistic troupe of Pleasant Valley decide to take their show to the road, all the way up to those gullible Northerner's own territory, in Iowa. This makes for some sweet frolics as a bunch of dim witted reality TV folks stumble into the camp and end up with more drama than they bargained for. Will the young wannabe stars be able to escape Mayor Buckman and Co's 'Bloodiest Show on Earth', or are they gonna end up on Granny's chopping board?
2001 maniacs: FoS, is a hoot and half, filled with blood, guts, boobs and loads of dark humour from beginning to end. Firstly, Bill Moseley is superb (as always) as Mayor Buckman and pulls of the dark, dry humour brilliantly. Christa Campbell looks damn lush as the milkmaid and also manages to put in a fine performance to boot. Nivek Ogre (Industrial fans will know him) is great as Harper Alexander, an all round psycho, not shy about cutting pretty young things to pieces. Great stuff.
There is loads of gore in FoS, tonnes of it and gratuitously so. It's a quirky tongue in cheek kinda flick that never takes itself seriously, it's really geared toward laughs more than frights. Which is good, cause to be honest this flick didn't frighten me in the slightest. If your looking for a serious piece of horror your definitely on the wrong page, cause all you'll get here is a good beer drinking movie that's gonna be better watching with a bunch of buddies.
It does seem to be a bit slow at the odd moments here and there and most the TV reality crew folks are down right uninteresting. They really only exists as play things for the Maniacs to have their fun, which is good. In fact it's a shame more reality TV stars weren't treated like this in reality lol.
Lots of nudity and sexual innuendo in this flick also.. Who's gonna complain about that? Not me. Always good to show a little bit of skin and 2001 Manics don't disappoint. So, yeah 2001 Maniacs: FoS is recommended although like i said before, it's not a serious flick, best to be approached like a comedy i guess, except with blood. Lot's of it.
