Schools are war zones between rival gangs and rowdy students. Almost prophetic? Well, at least up until a point. Unless there is something we don't know, the educational equivalent of the Terminator hasn't yet been installed in the local high school. We've got our usual mouthy, brightly dressed gang bangers who think they are sooooocooooollll, strutting their stuff and acting all hard. In friendlier days they might have been the dudes who snuck off behind the bike sheds for a quick ciggy and who thought they were great cos they'd just shared a bottle of beer 10 ways, but I guess things have moved on and automatic weapons are the in things. Progress eh?
Enter the terminator teachers! These chip and circuit cyborgs will get order back in no time at all. You'd better feckin' learn and behave, 'cos if you don't you're likely to wind up dead. Learn or burn baby, learn or burn.
If ya haven't guessed it from the above then this is one of those society in chaos kinda sci-fi's where technology seems to offer a solution but soon ends up turning on the humans. You know the score from movies and real life - technology is a panacea, it'll fix everything, at least until people start dying. Of course, then it's cover up time.
Yeah, it's kinda formulaic, but the characters at least have some depth, and the action is well done. There's even the odd surprise to be had along the way. Effects are pretty good looking, and more importantly than everything else, it is an enjoyable film to watch. There's enough in the way of plot and action to sustain interest.
Kick back, enjoy, and wait for the day when RoboProf ends up in the local educational establishments. That day is coming, and just remember that ya can't trust the robots. They're plotting bad things. Heck, you've seen enough films to clue you in to that fact.
