Cutesy, do-gooder plants, go head to head with nasty zombies in this feature packed puzzler/defend the tower game that oozes more fun than a zombie drips wretched internal juices. It has a moonwalking Michael Jackson zombie for gods sake, how in the hell can that not have sold you on getting it already?
Gameplay is pure simplicity - use your plants to stop the zombies from crossing your lawn. Things get complicated later on when the battle against the undead shifts to night time, lawns with swimming pools, and a rooftop garden. You collect sunlight which allows you to buy plants, and face off against a multitude of different undead each with their own special traits.
There's Pole Vaulter zombies, who, if you haven't guessed, can jump over plants. Zombies in American Football 'armor' who are basts to kill. Miner zombies who dig under stuff. And a moonwalking Michael Jackson zombie who dances around and spawns more zombies. And tonnes more, it's cutesy zombie brilliance personified!
As already mentioned, gameplay is simple, but it's fiendishly addictive. And there are a myriad of sub-games, stuff like walnut bowling where you have to knock over zombies, survival where you just have to survive as long as possible against increasingly nasty zombie hordes, and even a load of modes where you can play as the zombies and attempt to diddle those poor, cute plants.
When you reach the end there's a brilliant little song that just rewards perfectly, and those sub-games will keep you going forever. This'll last you longer than it takes for a mouldy old zombie to rot.
It's almost saccharine cute, I challenge you not to feel sorry for one of your poor plants when it's looking all grumpy and has a few bite marks on it! Great fun, tonnes of stuff to do, and it would be a steal at full price, let alone the pocket change you can pick it up for now.
Get it, it's a cutesy zombie classic!
