Blood on the Highway is a movie of vampires, survivalists and downright insanity. The basic story goes as such: three youngsters crossing the country find themselves besieged by vampires whilst travelling through a nowhere town called Fate. After one gets bitten it becomes a race to get out of the town and find a hospital, however things prove to be trickier than they first thought. After finding help in some of the locals, the young group not only have to contend with all the bloodsuckers on the outside but also a mountain of bullshit from their supposed new 'friends'. Will they be able to escape Fate, or are they gonna be the next tasty bit for the bloodsucking hordes outside?
Blood on the Highway is not a serious movie, it's a comedy plain and simple, and a very dark, adult one at that. The movie is not short on gore however, loads of blood n guts flying over the place just the way we like it. Obviously being a comedy means it's not scary, i mean, not scary in the slightest. The vampires in this movie are idiots, in fact all the characters in this movie are idiots. So if you plan to watch this expecting a serious horror flick your going to be mighty disappointed.
Pacing wise i felt things got a bit sluggish at times and the humour left me wanting. I guess that's me though, humour is obviously a very subjective thing, but most of the time i just felt bored watching this. The characters in this movie became annoying half way through, they never seem to change their tune, constantly pouting the same kind of crap over an over again. After the first hour it become a choir watching this.
I guess the acting quality is reasonable, but it still won't save this one. I think had Blood on the Highway had a bit more dynamism and been a little more serious, it could have been quite a good flick indeed. But that's my opinion, you can feel free to let me know your own opinion in the comments if you want and I'll be happy to take the criticism. Sorry to say though but this one is not recommended.

Ben WasdenI disagree. I thought this movie was a lot of fun from beginning to end. And the humor is my kind of humor, very crude. This movie sort of reminded me of Dead & Breakfast only with vampires.
