Jeepers Creepers II is set a few days after the events in the original movie. Farmer Jack Taggart and his sons are out in the fields, everything seems normal, except it's not. Out of nowhere one of his youngest sons is snatched never to be seen again. As you can imagine this leaves poor Jack a little distraught and miffed. He's not the only one in for a bad day though. The Creeper Man has set his sights on a bus full of young teenage school kids who just so happen to be travelling through the middle of nowhere when their tyres are destroyed. It'll be a night of hell as they struggle to survive the onslaught.
Jeepers Creepers II was never going to be as original as the first movie but nevertheless they've managed to incorporate some nice new elements to keep things fresh. I won't divulge any spoilers but The Creeper Man has a few tricks up his sleeve (almost literally).
The cast is full of relative unknowns but thankfully the acting standard is decent. Most of the characters are fairly hum drum truth be told with a few of them being downright annoying but it all comes good.
There's some nice gory bits, though sadly there's not that much of it or to put it a better way, there's not as much as i'd like but others may feel different. The special effects standard is excellent and it looks as good today as it did 8 years ago. In fact it's hard to believe that this movie is 8 years old for more reasons than one.
The movie's pacing is spot on, it never gets dull and it rarely slows down, the tension levels are kept strong once the action starts up and it just keeps on rolling. There's a subtle twist at the end as well that i wasn't expecting either.
I'm really hard pressed to not recommend this one. It's got a classic demon/monster that in my opinion is one of the best in the past decade. It's tense and it's genuinely creepy in parts. So until Jeepers Creepers 3: Cathedral is with us in 2013 this may be the best Creeper fix you can have. Get the beer in and enjoy.
